Craft Beer and the Red Sox

Despite being on-call for work Friday night and all-day Sunday, I had a pretty amazing weekend.

After buying an iPhone, getting my hair highlighted, and shopping for some new spring/summer work clothes, I decided to try and spend as little money as possible this weekend. Thankfully, I succeeded.

Friday night we stayed in and hung out with friends, and Saturday we attended the American Craft Beer Fest at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. I took zero photos, because imbibing quickly became more important than taking pictures. But trust me when I tell you we had a blast, and it was great to see a bigger crowd and more vendors there this year versus last year. I hope that means more people are starting to appreciate craft beer!

After the beer fest, we headed to Cambridge Common where I proceeded to eat about 18 Mac & Cheese Bites ($6.95), plus 3/4th of their Middle Eastern Platter ($7.95). I never said I was classy.

On Sunday, Z and I went to a Red Sox game, which was free thanks to our lovely realtor.

We each drank a Sam Summer in the sunshine...but quickly escaped to shade before our dangerously white bodies burnt to a red, blistery crisp.

All in all, it was a fun weekend with great weather, great friends and good eats - and it barely cost me a dime.

How was your weekend?

  4. Sounds like a superb weekend! Red Sox tickets from your realtor? Beats a new cutting board or welcome mat! I've never been to Cambridge Common, but the description of that grub makes me want to head there today!
